WHO CAN POST?

Active Members, Administrators and Sponsors of Digital Image Cafe can post in the forums and to photos. Sponsors are granted posting access for the purpose of responding to member questions and concerns. Please note that there are Sponsors that are also Full Members of Digital Image Cafe.

RESPONSIBILITY

You are responsible for what you post, and what you read. All posts made are the opinions and views of the author and not necessarily those of Digital Image Cafe. Digital Image Cafe is not responsible for the veracity or validity of any information posted here, nor do we vouch for the authenticity or the identity of any of the posters. Digital Image Cafe will not be held liable for any information or message posted to any discussion forum or photo comment and disclaims all liability resulting from any action or inaction taken as a result of reading or posting a message in any discussion forum or photo comment.

STAY ON-TOPIC

Post in the appropriate forum and remain on-topic. Start a new topic if you wish to introduce a new subject. Follow-ups should usually be posted to the original topic. Virus warnings, urban legends, politics, world events, charities, etc. - all are off-topic unless photography and/or the Digital Image Cafe entity is somehow related to the topic. Posts of personal experiences, humor and light-hearted stories are considered to be acceptable.

ORIGINALITY

These forums are for discussions and your contributions should be specific to these forums. Do not cut-and-paste lengthy messages from other websites or lists. If you want to use a lengthy article elsewhere as the basis of discussion that is fine - simply link to it (note the linking guideline) - quoting a paragraph or two for context is fine and please give credit it�s author. Note: if you ever receive an email from non-members or someone you do not know urging you to post something for them, absolutely do not post it anywhere on Digital Image Cafe.

CIVILITY

Be civil in all of your posts and refrain from using inflammatory language or expletives. Digital Image Cafe will determine what is inflammatory using our own judgment, without direction from or appeal to Digital Image Cafe management. No “Shouting” please, DO NOT POST IN ALL CAPS! Please mind your Caps-Lock key.

MONOPOLIZATION

We encourage you to participate actively, enthusiastically, and frequently.

ADVERTISING

Advertisements for products or services are prohibited by the General Membership. Exceptions: links are acceptable when recommendations are on-topic. Digital Image Cafe may from time to time advertise items intended to benefit the General Membership.

LINKING & EMBEDDING

It is generally a poor idea to link to remote images and pages without permission from the remote site owner. If the owner replaces the image/content without your knowledge, your post could inadvertently become very inappropriate. It is perfectly OK to link to images hosted on your own site, or on sites where you pay the cost of bandwidth and they are within the Terms of Use of Digital Image Cafe. Please do not post embedded images in the forums and/or photo comments that are wider than 700 pixels and/or greater than 300k.

FRAUD

Impersonation of others is a criminally fraudulent act. Individuals who choose to do this will be banned and their Internet service provider may be contacted for further action depending on the severity of the case.

DISCONTENT

Posts in regard to any dissatisfaction and/or problems with Digital Image Cafe Operations, Management, Systems, Policies, Members or Membership will not be entertained in these forums and/or in photo comments. Posts in this regard will be deleted upon discovery with out warning at our discretion. If you have any issues with Digital Image Cafe Operations, Management, Systems, Policies, Members or Membership, they are to be directed to us via private email at admin@digitalimagecafe.com only and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
